I don't know about you, but it is hard not to think about school. I miss my students, and can't wait to get back to teaching. I am wrapping up my last class and all the requirements for my graduate program. I will become officially certified to teach English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Yay!
I have been also catching up on my reading.
So far, I have read:
The Water is Wide, by Pat Conroy
Lean In, by Sheryl Sandberg
also many "teacher" books like:
Lessons in Comprehension, by Frank Serafini
Around the Reading Workshop in 180 Days, by Frank Serafini
How to Read Literature Like a Professor, by Thomas Foster
Notebook Know How, by Aimee Buckner (a reread)
and some really interesting children's literature, like:
A Bad Case of Stripes, by David Shannon
Bluebird, by Bob Staake
City Dog, Country Frog, by Mo Willems
Me...Jane, by Patrick McDonnell
Moses, by Boston Weatherford
We Are the Ship, by Kadir Nelson
Heart and Soul, by Kadir Nelson
Henry's Freedom Box, by Ellen Levine
Unspoken, by Henry Cole
