Summer book-a-day challenge

The time is here to enter this challenge as so many of my  favorite bloggers and their students do.  Now that I am somewhat finished with major commitments (mathematics and gifted coursework, daughter's graduation, etc.), I am ready to begin.  The first day of the challenge for me begins today, June 6, 2014.  For the record, picure books as well as novels count, fiction and nonfiction, children's literature and professional books are all included.  Anything except articles count.  Real books. You can read more than one book on a single day, and a portion of a book another, as long as you average a book a  day all summer.  Will you join me?

So, today's conpleted read is The Dot, by Peter Reynolds.  Yes, this picture book has made quite a splash.  And, yes, I loved it as well.  It may even make it to the first week of school read aloud list.  Many more picture books on my to-be-read list.
